This came across my screen when i was browsing on Facebook.
Ragnarok Online is my first and definitely the best online game that i have ever played. This image actually made a short flashback of my childhood memory, creating the nostalgic feeling. Back when i was in primary school, where i have not much things to be worried about, whenever i'm back from school, i would just throw my schoolbag aside and turn on my old desktop with the bulky monitor and start my adventure in Ragnarok Online.
This game really helps me in my English, many vocabularies were learnt through this, i'm really thankful because i do not face much trouble learning English although my English is still yet to be considered good but it is good enough for me to pass the primary and secondary school level. Besides that, this game teaches me about business tactics because I have the chance to be a merchant. It actually give me some sort of glimpse of reality - "Money is not everything, but without money, u can't do anything! "
From the novice training ground, holding a knife, killing fabre and cute little poring until i became a swordman, wearing only G-string and a sword dropped by lunatic.... it suddenly came in my mind that at that time, i was actually happy and enjoying the game even though i am not some top player. I just enjoyed, killing the monsters, leveling up, meet new friends, forming parties to take on higher level monster..
In my opinion, games can help cultivate interest especially for younger kids, let them explore what they like and are talented in. Who knows, they might learn a lot useful things that is not from the textbook, and also learning is best and fun when we learn it from things we love doing.
I had really really great moments with Ragnarok Online. Although some friends of mine said my childhood is only trapped in a room, not like their's, went out and play, climb trees and so on... Well, I do not regret my childhood was spent with RO.
